The "CD-R Extensions" is a original software developed by JVC and Smart Strage.Inc for paket writing . After installing it, it allows you to save date on CD-R disc by "drag & drop" at "Explore" of Windows95 or "File Manager" of Windows3.1 like a floppy disks and hard disks.
The "CD-R Extensions" applies the variable packet writing and it supports ISO9660 format (level1) , and CD-R discs written data by CD-R Extensions are readable at the various computer system like Windows, Macintosh and Unix. It also has many functions like pass-words function and branching function can control the history of your writing.

��Quick Start��
1. Formatting
To format a blank CD-R disc like a floppy, you select "format" by using right button.
2. Types of formatting
On format dialog box, you input a label of your choice in the Volume Label field and you can choose both write mode; ISO9660 format and Backup mode format.
3. Writing data to CD-R
To write data to CD-R, you can use "drag & drop" at "Explore" of Windows95, " File Manager"of Windows3.1 or save it on any application like a floppy disks and also you can delete or renew data (but actually burned data on CD-R disc).
4. Finalizing
Finalizing is the process by which CD-R Extensions converts your CD-R disc into a CD-ROM that can be read by any ordinary CD-ROM drive.

1. ISO 9660 mode and JVC original Backup mode
CD-R Extensions has two formatting mode; ISO 9660 mode(Level 1) and Backup mode(JVC original format) . ISO9660 mode a standard format , so it can be read on not only Windows and MS-DOS platforms but also Macintosh and UNIX.

2. Taking a Snapshot
Taking a snapshot of your CD-ROM makes a permanent record of the data on your CD-ROM at that point in time. just as a photograph of your family stores a permanent visual record of the way your family looked when the picture was snapped, taking a snapshot of your CD-ROM yields the same result. Because of the permanent nature of written data on CD-ROM, the CD-R Extensions allows you to mount any snapshot resident on your CD-ROM and write further data to it. This is a feature which enables you to return to older versions of important data.
3. Password function
If you chose to make a Backup CD-ROM , a Password field will exist in the Finalize dialog box. Passwaord function makes your important data keep the security because of checking passward on mounting CD-ROM.
