Digital Sound Square is
a site that provides users with the sound effects and
background music (BGM) that are indispensable for video
editing. The site employs MP3, a powerful tool in digital
video editing that compresses digital sound to a quality
equivalent to CD. The sounds provided by this site can
easily be downloaded for your movie by using Camcorder
and Multimedia Card. So let's produce home movies using
the Camcorder! |

- When copying sound effects
from your PC to a memory card, use an optional PC card
adapter (CU-V50U) or floppy disk adapter (CU-VFM40).
- Copy the sound effects into the DCSD\100JVCGR folder
of the memory card.
-When using the memory card provided with the camcorder,
use the file names after DVC00013.mp3 because the file
names DVC00001.mp3 to DVC00012.mp3 are used for sound
effects.
-The 12 sound effects recorded in the MultiMedia Card
are compressed together and uploaded (sound-e.exe for
Windows(R), sound-e.sit for Macintosh(R)). After decompressing
the file, copy the desired sound effects into the above-mentioned
folder. |

MP3 (MPEG Audio Layer 3)
is a music data compression method. Similarly to the
MD (Mini Disc) compression technique, MP3 analyzes music
data items of every frequency and compresses such data.
It is based on the theory that, if there is a large
tone at a certain pitch, the human ear cannot detect
tones of a slightly higher or lower pitch than that
with a large tone. As a result, music of an audibly
equivalent quality to CD is obtained from the compact
data size of about 1/11th that of music captured with
a 44.1 kHz sampling rate and 16-bit stereo.

audio materials recorded in commercially-marketed CDs
or distributed on the Internet using MP3, remember that
the copyright laws permit duplication or editing of
copyright materials only when the duplicated or edited
materials are used personally or within a household.

materials beyond the limit specified above constitutes
an infringement of the copyright laws, and compensation
for damages may be demanded for the user by the copyright
