The VN-C625U is only 120mm in diameter, making it slim and inconspicuous. Additionally, it features a CF card slot that works in conjunction with the alarm function to allow automatic recording onto a CF card when the alarm triggers.
The high-resolution 1/4" interline transfer CCD with IR cut filter captures scenes in realistic color, while the 12x optical zoom provides clear details.
Even with light levels of 1.8 lx, the VN-C625U can shoot high-quality pictures thanks to Super LoLux™ technology. And at night the mechanical IR cut filter can be automatically retracted for infrared imaging (monochrome), making the camera sensitive enough to shoot in just 0.075 lx of ambient light.
Highly sophisticated control of camera movements is enabled with such features as 360-degree endless rotation and Auto Flip (ensuring no blind spots), variable pan/tilt speeds, Auto Pan and Auto Patrol with 100 preset positions, Privacy Masking (to protect selected areas from intrusive monitoring), and Auto Tour (to replay manual camera operations).
The high-quality images are output as Motion-JPEG format with a resolution of up to 640x480 pixels and a maximum frame rate of 30fps. Any computer on the network can be used to monitor and store this video stream.
The bit rate (32kbps to 8Mbps) can be set by turning the Distribution Control setting on. This allows the camera to maintain the preset frame rate (max. 30fps*) and file size by automatically changing the compression level according to the bit rate.

The network camera shall be a self contained unit that incorporates a color camera, motorized zoom/auto iris lens, 360degree endless pan&tilt mechanism and 10 Base-T & 100 Base-TX Ethernet, IEEE802.3 and IEEE802.3u standard communication. The network camera shall a JVC Model VN-C625U or equivalent. The VN-C625U camera shall incorporate a 1/4 Inch image sensor,380,000 pixels with built-in complementary color filter for accurate Color with no image lag or distortion. The network camera shall produce JPEG compression, picture sizes of 640 x 480 and 320 x 240 with a maximum transfer frame rate of 30 fps for smooth motion pictures. The network camera shall support programmable IP addresses allowing the installation of multiple units in the same LAN environment. The network camera shall have a built-in Web server that features an FTP server capability for storage of user-designed Web pages. The network camera shall feature NAT/IP Masquerade so that multiple VN-C625Us can be connected to a NAT/IP Masquerade compatible router and share a single IP address. The network camera shall feature a true day & night function removing the IR cut filter automatically (IR ON/OFF) together with AGC for increased sensitivity in low light conditions. The network camera shall deliver a usable high quality picture at a scene illumination of 1.8 lx f1.6 (color mode) and 0.15 lx f1.6 (B&W mode). The network camera shall deliver high picture quality analog output which is 520TV lines horizontal resolution to be record by an analog VCR or DVR for back up recording application. The network camera shall feature Automatic White Balance for accurate color reproduction or manual adjustment for flexible operation in a wide range of environments. The network camera shall have user friendly menu set up and adjustment of the Auto iris level, Back-light compression, color level, AGC, camera ID, time and date, adjustable bit rate from 32kbps to 8Mbps and full function by provided controller and viewing software or through a Web browser. The network camera shall incorporate a built in 12X optical zoom lens that has a focal length of 3.8mm to 45.6mm. The pan and tilt shall allow 360°endless panning and 180°tilting angle (thru auto flip) coverage. The pan and tilt mechanism shall be a high-speed movement allowing maximum of 180°per second panning speed and 120°per second tilting speed. The network camera shall feature 100 preset positions allow individual setting of pan, tilt & zoom that shall be programmable via provided controller software or thru a Web browser. The 100 preset positions can also be used in three Auto Patrol mode programs. The pan, tilt, and zoom lens and camera shall feature a privacy masking function that may be able to protect privacy thru 4 masks on same image and a total 8 masks. The network camera shall incorporate a UDP/IP, TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, ICMP, ARP, NTP, and DHCP, protocols for various applications. The VN-C625U is fully compatible with the VN-C11U, VN-C30U, VN-C205U, VN-C655U cameras and the VR-N100U which can be easily mixed in a system. The provided controller and viewing software shall feature record, playback, and snapshot functions to allow for a PC based surveillance system.
The maximum length of control data cable (CAT5) shall be 328 feet allowing point to point connection and extensions can be made thru a switching Hub. The power source shall be DC12V 2A and includes an AC24V to DC12V converter. The network camera's dimensions shall not exceed 4-23/32 inches (diameter) x 7-1/2 inches (height). The unit shall be UL listed.
