Victor Company of Japan, Limited (JVC) takes pride in being the official partner of the 17th FIFA World Cup^TM, which will be hosted jointly by Korea and Japan in 2002. On Tuesday, January 16^th, 500 days before its opening, it will launch a "2002 FIFA World Cup^TM JVC Official Site" as a soccer information site for the event. JVC actively supports the FIFA World Cup^TM and is committed to the success of "2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan^TM", the first FIFA World Cup^TM ever to be held in Asia.

JVC began its first soccer site, the "JVC WORLD SOCCER WEB," for the "1998 FIFA World Cup France". It will be enhancing the content of the site and changing its name in preparation for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan^TM.

The site, which is run in collaboration with Infostrada Sports, a sports information service company, features up-to-the-minute news of FIFA World Cup^TM, preliminary match results, information on countries participating in preliminary matches, historical data and match schedules. It will also be adding new entertainment corners, including a selection of games and quizzes.

Beginning 500 days out from the startup of the 2002 FIFA World Cup^TM, the JVC site will give away free "Countdown T-shirts", with the one lucky winner selected every day. The T-shirts feature the official emblem of "2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan^TM" plus a countdown number and date.
