The Many People Who Labor in the Shadows to Support the Gorgeous Tournament

At the World Cup '98 in France, the Best Four have been determined and the action is moving toward the finals on July 12. The remaining four matches will take place in three stadiums: Marseille, Paris, and Saint Denis. Thus, the World Cup is over for the other seven stadiums. The World Cup can only succeed with the efforts of the entire cities and their unstinting cooperation, so the seven sites that are already finished are breathing a sigh of relief.

In the World Cup, it is easy to notice just the athletes, but one must not forget all the people who work behind the scenes at each stadium contributing to the running of the tournament. For example, the police and riot squads stationed to ensure safety at the stadiums and the many volunteers who work at stations, airports, and around the stadium to guide the visitors from around the world are indispensable to the World Cup. On the last day of the World Cup at each stadium, they showed the brightest smiling faces, smiles of pleasure at their job well done. We are looking forward to seeing those same smiling faces at the remaining three stadiums too.

Tearing the tickets at the wickets is another job for volunteers. This tournament, there was a major problem with forged tickets. At the information booth at the stadium, volunteers explain the stadium to you kindly. Police checking items being brought into the stadium by fans - indispensable for safety.
