Even if your client only wants a standard definition DVD
copy of a corporate promotion, wedding or sporting event,
it still makes sense to originate the footage in HD.
As HD’s popularity grows in the consumer arena,
you’ll be able to produce future copies that can
take advantage of the larger flat panel displays and other
consumer playback devices that will all be capable of
high definition storage and display.
HDV media is inexpensive as well. ProHD uses exactly
the same mini and standard-size cassettes as professional
DV (Standard Definition), so archiving of HD footage on
tape cassettes is very cost-effective.
The GY-HD100 uses 1-hour plus mini cassettes, while the
BR-HD50 accepts both the mini and standard-size cassette,
with the latter providing more than 4 hour’s recording
capacity.
With ProHD, you get cost-effective acquisition and archiving,
with built-in future-proofing. |
