20th Tokyo Video Festival Application Guideline


Entry Qualifications:
The festival is open to amateur, professionals, individuals, and groups of any nationality.


Video Compositions:
Video compositions must be produced with a video camera or camcorder on S-VHS, VHS, S-VHS-C, U format (3/4 inch) or mini DV tapes. Playback time must not exceed 20 minutes. Any subject matter is acceptable. All video compositions are eligible, including those that have previously been viewed either privately or publicly.

How to Entry:
Please attach the Entry Form to your video compositions and please send them to the following address:

Entry Date and Deadlines:
Video compositions will be accepted from May 1 to October 5, 1997.


Announcement of Awards:

Video Grand Prize (one work)
US$5,000; a 10 day round-trip to Japan (for one person); a trophy; and a citation

JVC Grand Prize (one work)
US$5,000; a 10 day round-trip to Japan (for one person); a trophy; and a citation

Gold Awards (five works)
US$2,500; worth of JVC video equipment; a trophy; and a citation

Silver Awards (ten works)
US$1,500 and a citation

Bronze Awards (fifteen works)
US$1,000 and a citation

In addition these five different awards, another awards temporarily named
"Awards for Activities"will be presented for compositions that reflect some part of life, whether in the home, in the local community or at work, through new applications of hardware including digital video cameras.


Copyright:
JVC reserves the right to copy, exhibit, screen distribute, broadcast by cable or air all video compositions entered to promote the Tokyo Video Festival.
