The Tokyo Video Festival (TVF) was initiated in 1978
with the aim of encouraging communication through
video-making by amateur and professional individuals and
groups. THE 9 WORKS AWARDED FROM THE 51 WORKS NOMINATED FOR THE 20TH TOKYO VIDEO FESTIVAL AWARDS The 20th JVC Tokyo Video Festival Award Ceremony, which took place at the Tokyo International Forum in Yurakucho,Tokyo on Saturday, January 24, 1998.was hailed a resounding success by its many participants and visitors. Live coverage of the ceremony was broadcast on this Internet home page that day. The 51 works from 2,096 entries have been nominated for awards by the judging committee of the 20th Tokyo Video Festival last month, and the 9 works awarded at the award ceremory. Tokyo Video Festival is one of the world's most important international video competitions, which attracted a record 2,096 entries - exceeding 2,000 for the first time ever - including 941 from 40 foreign countries and regions. We will continue to support wholeheartedly the goals of the festival in order that communication through videos might become more widespread, sophisticated and enjoyable for people around the world. |
