The second day was kicked off by the Soulbop Band of Bill Evans, Randy Brecker, and guitarist Hiram Bullock. Next, Sergio Mendes, much respected by the hip-hop generation, appeared. The audience was charmed when Mendes, working with rappers, revived songs from the Brazil 66 period. The Neville Brothers, who continue to express the spirit of New Orleans, dedicated the classic song "Amazing Grace" (featuring Aaron's falsetto vocal performance) to New Orleans. Next, Tower of Power performed impressively.
And the last set on the NILE featured the young female soul singer Leela James. Her dynamic live performance got the audience excited enough to sing and dance along with her, and the performance continued long after the scheduled curtain drop.
The MAAS stage saw a performance by Richard Bona, who appeared at the final of the 2006 Soccer World Cup. On the DARLING stage, piano master Hank Jones' Trio co-performed with Roberta Gambarini, a vocalist from Italy. As for the YUKON stage, recent up-and-coming blind vocalist/guitarist Raul Midón received massive applause from the excited audience.
